Twelve celeb diss tracks (and who they’re about)

One of the iconic songs of the 2000s, Hollaback Lady, is definitely a diss monitor aimed toward ’90s rocker, Courtney Love.

Gwen Stefani wrote the tune after Love gave an interview during which she shaded the No Doubt singer.

“Being well-known is rather like being in highschool. However I am not inquisitive about being the cheerleader. I am not inquisitive about being Gwen Stefani. She’s the cheerleader, and I am out within the smoker shed. And loads of you’re on the market within the smoker shed too. With regards to rock ‘n’ roll, it is similar to highschool.”

In response to this, Stefani wrote Hollaback Lady and the music video centres across the theme of cheerleaders.

“Y’know somebody one time known as me a cheerleader, negatively, and I’ve by no means been a cheerleader,” Stefani informed music publication NME in 2005.

“So I used to be, like, ‘OK, f-ck you. You need me to be a cheerleader? Nicely, I shall be one then. And I am going to rule the entire world, simply you watch me.'”
